It’s the designer Bruno D. who is the client of this project. The man has taste and is thrill-seeker. A priori we should get along! Two telephone calls were enough to define and launch the project, we briefly discussed the big ideas: a large package of well gleaming horses, comfortably installed in a radical built. Our common passion for the US lifestyle vintage fashion made us agree.
The man is a player. He gave me carte blanche on the basis of a GSX (at this moment in story he does not know at all what I'll create for him, nor did I…).
Once we founded the base, a GSX of 1980 (the first of the line), you pass the ritual of undressing. With Bruno, we have agreed to modify the back loop. At the sight of the frame, I quickly admit that we might have to do a little more than that. It's not really ugly but, during our conversation, the word "sculpture" had been uttered at this point we are far from the account.
The idea is to highlight the 4 cylinders, 16 valves 100 hp. To do that, we have to minimize everything else. The craft rather made for the exhibition than large sprees, 6 liters of fuel are sufficient for demonstrations to the 400 meters!
After having sawed almost anything over the column, the place is open! Facing me, a big block and two small steel tubes have survived... Let’s go…
I chose a beautiful "mooneyes" yellow for the block, fine ... Except that it does not marry with anything. Thank you to Stickersdeluxe, very responsive! Cover with fifteen paint layers.
The installation of the monoshock required the creation of a custom swingarm on which chain tensioners will take place aluminum. The problem is that on the Buell rim there is a pulley, not a crown, so to paste a string on it we had to create a custom crown and a crown holder in the inside to maintain a proper alignment of the transmission.
The chassis tightly crimped' around the engine imposes a low passage for the exhaust, hence the creation of the collectors in stainless steel and the choice of turn out. A few well-placed grinder shots and the chain casing turns into Etnies logo for the "skateboarding touch". For the adaptation of the fork we go through the machining of a column and 2 fork tubes with an American flag shape which is dear to me (that's my little patriotic side ... or redneck .. . chose the right answer!). The straight tubes of bracelet are exchanged in favor of a Renthal cross handlebar cut in half and fitted with OMP lever taken on an HD
For the saddle I imagined something very minimalist and a little sexy... So I called my buddy Fabrice from the ASD workshop who made this little leather thong!
The light which came from of a Ford Mustang is maintained by 2 homemade Leather legs (this time we anticipated a little bit by purchasing leather and I did not have to sacrifice my belt at the last moment! (réf. Honda CBN 400)
Remote controls homemade with the Mooneyes. Finally the rear light, provided by the prison administration. This is in fact, at the beginning, the small light located above each cell door and allows inmates to call room service.
